New Ideas

I learned some fun things about editing today!

Little Mr C

I love this little guy! We had lots of fun running around the yard, eating fruit snacks and climbing around in the wheelbarrow. I can't wait for another photo shoot. (Hint, Hint) ;)

She Whispers

As of late, I find myself searching for the definitions of what makes me a woman... what it is that I use to define my womanhood by? The result of who I am when affected by men in my life, by my children, and by the women in my life too. Then there's love, and passion. Fire, and stillness. So many layers, various intensities. Pain, joy, love, heartbreak.
When taking these pictures I thought of the woman who created this home. I imagined her feelings. I wondered what she'd whisper. Was she happy when she left? Did she cry? Were her children born here? Is she at peace?

My Sweet Friend

This amazing and beautiful woman is a dear friend of mine whom I adore. She is strong and kind and passionate- which sometimes gets her into trouble... Sounds like someone else I know. ;)

Earl Grey, Paolo, and Lola

Everything I own is named. My Jeep Wrangler is Ellie Rose, named by myself and little brother because some pretty good quotes came from Eleanor Roosevelt. (Great Lady) My little car is The Sexy White Car despite the extremely dented door. (Which I do not mind cause that wonderful Contour gets 40 miles to the gallon --and it's not a minivan.)

Lola is my camera. And what a camera too! I am a Canon fan. They're all I have used, and I'm pretty comfortable peering through the viewfinder of my Canon. Riese is my Stepfather's last name, and although it isn't mine, I kind of adopted it and put an Celtic twist on it (cause my family hails from Montrose, Scotland- well my favorite part does) making it Rhys. Hence, Lola Rhys.

So today, with my laptop, Paolo rockin it out in the background and a big old mug of Earl Grey I remember that... I.am.an.ARTIST. That Photography is a balm for my not-so-perfect soul that could use a bit of healing.

Here's to you, all the people who's lives I peek into, and document, and get to love for what makes you... YOU. Cheers. ;)
